Uber to create economic value of ₹44,600 cr for India in 2021: Report

A report launched Wednesday by ride hailing app Uber said Uber has created economic value for 44,600 crore for the Indian economy in 2021.

Research firm Public First measured the economic impact by taking three factors into account, Udar’s driver-partner payout, the indirect and direct effects of driver-partner spending on vehicles, and the induced effect of additional driver-partner income.

“Uber made a guess 44,600 crore in economic value to the Indian economy. Uber Produced 1.5 trillion in consumer surplus in 2021, which equates to 0.8 percent of GDP,” said Uber’s 2021 India Economic Impact Report.

The report states that 96% of riders prefer Uber because they find convenience as a key reason.

The report said, “In a typical year, we estimate that Uber delivers more than 168 million hours of ridership annually. In fact, according to Indian riders, ride sharing is the most important transportation innovation they have implemented in the last decade. have experienced.”

According to report estimates, driver-partners earn extra 1,700 crore a year in high income through Uber, or an average of 49 percent more than their next best alternative type of work. Uber claims that it has around 6 lakh driver-partners in India.
