Kangana Ranaut to direct her acting guru in ‘Emergency’

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India]Aug 27 (ANI): Kangana Ranaut is leaving no stone unturned to give her best in her second directorial venture “Emergency”. Now, the Rani actor is going to direct his acting guru Arvind Gaur in the upcoming film.

Taking to her Instagram stories, Kangana shared a picture with her mentor along with a caption.

He wrote, “Today I am privileged to direct my acting guru @arvindgaur ji who mentored me at the age of 16. I had requested sir for a cameo in the emergency film directed by me and here he is with me.

She also shared another post introducing her mentor. He said, “Arvind is a great theater director… is directing director today.”

In the picture, Kangana is seen in a white chikankari suit holding her guru’s hand and chatting.

Kangana is continuously working on the film. In fact, he worked a few weeks back despite suffering from dengue.

‘Emergency’ revolves around the life of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and features Kangana in the lead role of the late politician.

Talking about donning the directorial cap for the second time, Kangana said, “My last directorial film was Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi and I got an enthusiastic response from the audience as it was a blockbuster. I was tempted to direct another film but I had to complete many acting assignments. I believe I know the pulse of the audience from my interviews, my quotes and the words I coined are now part of pop culture (she laughs). I believe the audience is looking for something that stimulates their intellectual side, not just their sensual side.”

Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary and Shreyas Talpade are also a part of the film.

Kangana will also be seen in Sarvesh Mewada’s directorial ‘Tejas’, in which Ranaut will play the role of an Air Force pilot. The official movie date is still awaited. (ANI)
