At least 50 children sick after DPT vaccination in Aligarh; CMO says that all is fine. Agra News – Times of India

Aligarh: At least 50 students of a government primary school in a village here fell ill after getting the DPT vaccine.
He was taken to the nearby Government Primary Health Center where he was treated till late in the evening and later discharged.
The incident happened on Friday in village Nai Kan. Nagla Under Dadan police station area
Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of the district on Saturday Neeraj TyagiHowever, he told reporters that affected children suffered only from “routine reactions” to such vaccinations.
He said a team of doctors was sent to the affected village on Saturday morning and all the children have recovered.
In front of media persons and social workers who reached the health centre, several parents alleged that the issue sparked controversy that their children were forcibly vaccinated without informing them.
“The doors of the school were locked when some students tried to run away from the school to avoid vaccination,” the parents of a student alleged.
CMO Solitaire told reporters that media reports that the children “fell seriously ill” were “extremely exaggerated”.
He acknowledged that around 50 children were brought to the government health center in an ambulance, but added that “the affected children only suffered from the routine reactions that occur after such vaccination”.
He said some children vomited, but all recovered.
The CMO did not respond to allegations that children were “forcefully vaccinated without informing their parents”.
