Chandigarh: The 1971 batch of Senior Model School, Sector-16, Chandigarh celebrated its 50th anniversary of graduation from the school.
Alumni have gathered from Chandigarh, Panchkula And MohaliBut also with your spouse in other parts of the country and abroad.
He went to school to relive the memories of his school days. The alumni met the current principal Bhavnat Kaur. The main attraction was meeting his class teacher Usha Sehgal, who at the age of ninety took the initiative to visit the school to meet and reminisce about his time in school. The group also visited High Tea Tuck’s shop, which they used to buy burgers and Coke for fifty paise during their school years.
Initially, the school was known as Senior Model School, but later it became Government Senior Model. It was considered one of the best schools in the country in those days. The group remembers the then principal A Karam Singh as one of the best schools among all the schools.
The alum recalled how he played K. Mohan, learned the values and principles of hard work by teachers like Bhupinder Singh, due to which he was able to live his life personally and professionally.
Those who attended the meeting included Ashok Berry, Arun Rawal, Rajiv Singh, Sunil Party and Surinder Pal, Anju Mathur, Renu Sharma, Sushma Sharma, Sushil Tiwana and Taranjot Kaur.
He expressed his gratitude to his alma mater for his education and said that if his health and time-allowed, he would all like to go to school again.
