CAT 2022: The admission process for 20 IIMs is complicated. To be considered for admission to any IIM campus, an MBA candidate must first secure a minimum IIM cut-off
The Common Admission Test or CAT, which serves as a prerequisite for admission to all IIMs, is scheduled to be held on November 27. The Indian Institutes of Management, or IIMs, are among the top MBA schools in India. IIM cut-off is the primary criterion for the selection of applicants. The admission process for 20 IIMs is complicated. To be considered for admission to any IIM campus, an MBA candidate must first clear the minimum IIM cut-off.
This cut-off is declared before the written ability test or personal interview (WAT/PI) round, which is the second stage of the IIM admission process. Each campus publishes its IIM CAT cut-off for admission screening of applicants.
The IIM selection criteria and admission process are made public before the CAT exam. This information includes CAT scores required, admission requirements and other eligibility requirements. Only those who secure the minimum IIM cut-off percentile specified by the admission cells of the institutes in the CAT exam are invited for the WAT/PI round.

To be successful in the admission process, IIM aspirants must understand the difference between the two categories of CAT cut-off. There are two types of cut-offs: qualifying CAT cut-off (IIM eligibility cut-off) and final CAT cut-off (IIM call cut-off).
As per the official announcement the exam will be conducted in three shifts. The exam is conducted each year by an IIM on a rotating basis, and in 2022, IIM Bangalore will be in charge of doing so for 150 places for admission to the country’s top business schools. The final answer key will serve as the basis for CAT 2022 result after which the cut off will be announced by the IIMs.
