Court allows Misa Bharti to go to Singapore for her father’s treatment

A Delhi court has allowed Misa Bharti, daughter of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav and arbitrator in a money laundering case, to go to Singapore for her father’s treatment. Lalu Prasad Yadav has undergone kidney transplantation. .

Special Judge MK Nagpal also allowed Bharti’s husband and co-accused Shailesh Kumar to travel abroad between November 25, 2022 and January 1, 2023. The court said that no proceedings for physical presence of documents shall take place during this period.

The judge said that some conduct during the court proceedings was good as whenever they were called to appear, they appeared on the first day. Along with this, he has also been attending the court proceedings regularly, except when his request for exemption from appearance was accepted by the court.

The court, while allowing the two to travel abroad, observed that the apprehensions of the Enforcement Directorate regarding their plea during the hearing or proceedings of the case can only be regarded as apprehensions and have no reason or basis to support the same.

Bharti and Kumar are accused of siphoning off Rs 1.20 crore to purchase some immovable property in Delhi in the name of a company named Mishal Packers and Printers Private Limited. Both of them are directors of this company.
