We are all aware of the high antioxidant content of tea. But people who consume black or green tea, their immune system is strong. Tea can reduce the chances of bone loss by increasing its density. Several studies have shown that regular tea consumption has anti-aging benefits. Additionally, it is claimed that the tea prevents cavities rather than damaging the teeth.
You would agree that the best drink to start the day with is coffee. But it also has many health benefits. Regular coffee drinkers have been shown to have a lower risk of type 2 diabetes than non-consumers. Several minerals and antioxidants present in coffee also help in the regulation of blood sugar.
Nevertheless, we should not forget that both coffee and tea contain many polyphenols. These polyphenols attract iron and hence lead to iron deficiency, which can lead to anemia. This can be a problem if coffee or tea is consumed with a meal because polyphenols have a tendency to bind with iron if they are consumed at the same time as iron-rich food.
There is no problem with the absorption of iron in healthy people. But it is generally advised to stop consuming coffee or tea with meals if you are iron deficient.
