The Indian women’s team on Thursday lost to the South African women’s team in the final of the triangular T20 series. Electing to bat after winning the toss, India set a target of 110 runs. South Africa chased it down with 2 overs to spare as they defeated the women in blue by five wickets.
In the last T20I of the seven-match tri-series before the final, India had won three matches and South Africa had won two matches to make it to the summit clash. On the other hand, West Indies failed to register a single win and were out of contention to win the trophy.
India captain Harpanpreet said, “It will take two-three days but it will be fine. You have to enjoy any situation and we did that. There are a lot of positives in the series, we didn’t get out of line, but our bowlers Bowled very well.” Singh said.
South African captain Sune Luus said, “Thank you very much, very proud of the girls, the momentum we needed going into the World Cup. Playing in India again, but a great innings from Chloe.”
The Indian women’s team will aim to lift the T20 World Cup title starting February 10, with India taking on Pakistan in their opening match on February 12.
