British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Tuesday welcomed the “significant deal for Airbus and Rolls-Royce” to offer new aircraft to Air India. According to an official statement, the deal will support highly skilled jobs in Wales and Derbyshire and help promote and develop industry. The task group will buy 250 aircraft from Airbus, the world’s largest aviation deal in history.

The UK’s Department for International Trade said in a press release, “Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Secretary of State for Business and Trade Kemi Badenoch have welcomed a significant deal for Airbus and Rolls-Royce to provide new aircraft for Air India, which Billions of pounds to Britain.”
The agreements announced by the authority will support and create new high-skilled jobs in Wales and Derbyshire, helping to boost tweets, grow companies and raise UK standards. According to the press, a significant part of this is expected to be in the UK, the manufacturing process of the new variants.
“The wings will be designed in Filton, and flown in Broughton, which is expected to bring an additional 450 manufacturing jobs and over £100m of investment to Wales. As on the larger A350 aircraft, they are powered by Rolls-Royce exclusive XWB engines, which are in Derby and have been tested,” said press releases.
The UK focus area will add £10.6 billion of value to UK industry in 2021 and employ 111,000 high-skilled people. The UK’s Department for International Trade in the press said, “India is a major economic power, with a billion middle-class consumers by 2050, with a regulator reporting the world’s third largest industrialization. We are currently a are negotiating a free trade agreement that will boost our £29.6 million relationship.”
UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said, “This historic deal between Air India, Airbus and Rolls-Royce shows that the sky is the limit for Britain’s booming sightseeing destination.” UK Business and Trade Secretary Cammy Badenoch called it a “significant win” for the UK paving sector. Badenoch stressed that the UK is currently negotiating a trade deal with India that could boost trade by up to £28 billion a year by 2035.
