Referring to the MLC elections, Srinivasa Rao alleged that the ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) was resorting to inducements ahead of the elections. He alleged that the Election Commission was not responding to the “illegal methods being adopted by the ruling dispensation”.

“How can those who are not teachers and have not even passed 5th standard be given the right to vote?” He asked

He further alleged that SCERT Director Prathap Reddy, MLC Kalpalatha Reddy and Mr. Praveen Prakash were campaigning in favor of YSRCP candidates on the pretext of inspection.

“The Election Commission is requested to take note of it and take necessary steps. Also, fake votes have to be removed. Also, steps should be taken to stop the distribution of gifts to teachers by the ruling YSRCP.”
