Tamil film Bakasuran hit the theaters on 17th February and created a lot of buzz in the industry. Actor Selvaraghavan is garnering accolades for his performance in the film, which has received mixed reviews so far. While several celebrities praised Bakasooran, director Ameer Sultan took a dig at the film and its makers. Aamir’s comment comes after controversial BJP leader H Raja praised Mohanji’s film.
Aamir was surprised how H Raja immediately saw Bakasuran and came up with a review. He asked why famous Tamil films like Madras, Kaala and Kabali are not reviewed immediately. Aamir said that there was an attempt to create “an unhealthy atmosphere in Tamil Nadu like in the North”. The director also alleged that the film has the support of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Mohan ji has now reacted to the comments in a press conference. He refuted the claims and asked Aamir to provide evidence before making such absurd statements. Mohan ji also said that by making such comments, director Aamir is presenting a wrong opinion about Bakasuran without seeing the film. He appealed to them not to make such comments when the film is running in theatres.
Mohan ji cleared the air and said that he has not borrowed money from any political party or politician. The filmmaker revealed that he had taken a loan to make Bakasuran. He shared that he borrowed money from two people outside the industry and he is also the producer of the film.
Bakasuran has been receiving some decent reviews from both fans and peers. Earlier, Anurag Kashyap shared the film’s poster and wrote, “Bakasuran is hearing a good word of mouth for this film down south… Congratulations to my friend N Nataraja Subramani and director Selvaraghavan,” read his tweet.
South star Karthi praised Selvaraghavan’s performance in the film and tweeted, “It’s good to see Selvaraghavan becoming a full fledged actor and playing the lead. Only a few of us knew what a wonderful actor he is but the world is now Watching this. Congratulations to the Bakasuran team!

Bakasuran is a drama starring Selvaraghavan and Natti. The director had earlier revealed that it is based on some real-life incidents that he came across. The music of Bakasuran is by Sam CS.
