The CM said in his statement that since coming to power, the Sangh Parivar has been trying to keep Prasar Bharati under its control.

Alleging that Prasar Bharati stopped the telecast of then Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar’s Independence Day speech but live telecast of Vijayadashami speech of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Vijayan said, “In 2020, the Center has banned Jagdish Upasana.” , who was the group editor of the RSS publication Panchjanya and Organizer, as the chairman of the recruitment board of Prasar Bharati.

The CM said that the Centre’s move to bring Doordarshan and All India Radio completely under the control of the Sangh Parivar, controlling the media through corporates is a threat to democracy. The CM alleged that “this is a manifestation of fascist will that no voice of protest should be heard.” The Chief Minister said that the secular democratic society should recognize this and oppose it.
