Sisodia, who was sent to CBI custody on Monday, is to be produced in court tomorrow when his 5-day CBI remand ends
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, arrested in the alleged liquor scam last month, moved the Rouse Avenue Court on Friday for bail.
The application is likely to come up for hearing before Special Judge MK Nagpal on Saturday.
Sisodia, who was sent to CBI custody on Monday, is to be produced in court tomorrow when his 5-day CBI remand ends.
Sisodia was arrested by the CBI on February 26 in connection with alleged corruption in the formulation and implementation of the now-cancelled liquor policy for 2021-22. He was questioned for eight overs before his arrest.
Later, a special court in Delhi sent Sisodia to five-day CBI remand in the excise policy case to enable the agency to get “genuine and valid” answers to the questions being asked of him for “proper and impartial investigation”.
Earlier on February 28, the Supreme Court refused to entertain Manish Sisodia’s bail plea in the Excise Policy matter and quashing of the FIR, saying it would set a “wrong precedent” and effective alternative remedies were available to him .
