Instagram is focusing on growing the platform through ads
Ads have become a favorite source of monetization for Meta and its products, Instagram users will start seeing more of them.
Instagram has announced that it will be inserting ads into the platform’s search results to reach businesses, products and people actively searching for content.
The ads will appear in a feed that people can scroll through when they tap on a post from the search results. “We plan to launch this placement globally in the coming months,” the company said in a blog post.
Instagram also announced ‘reminder’ ads are being rolled out to all advertisers as an option in feed. The move is meant to help advertisers build awareness, anticipation and consideration for upcoming moments.
“People can opt for convenient reminders and receive up to three notifications from Instagram a day before, 15 minutes before and at the time of the event,” Instagram said. People come to Instagram to discover new brands, products or upcoming events.
The company said it aims to give businesses more ways to be discovered and make meaningful connections. “We recently partnered with brands like Starz to test a new ad format that makes it easy for businesses to announce, reminisce, and launch or inform people of future events that they might be interested in. Maybe,” it added.
The photo and video sharing platform has been adding more and more ads over the years. Ads can now be seen on the Explore page, Explore feed, Reels, Stories and even in user profiles.
