much awaited JioPhone Next Its new Progress OS is already making news in the market and now it is confirmed that GoogleThe supported smartphone will be manufactured at Reliance Jio’s NeoLink facility in Tirupati and Sriperumbudur. JioPhone Next will have Qualcomm processor. During the Reliance AGM, Mukesh Ambani announced a low budget smartphone. The phone targets the untapped market in the country to bring small and medium businesses into the digital and fintech revolution.
According to a video released by Jio on Monday, Jio Platforms and Google have jointly developed Pragati operating system for JioPhone Next, which is expected to hit the market around Diwali.
The JioPhone Next is going to have a single camera formation at the front and back and is expected to be launched in 2GB/16GB format. Its price is expected to be approx ₹3,499.
The phone will use a language-translation tool as a special feature to enable communication between local language speakers in India.
“Jio’s vision for India is similar to that of Google’s. Pragati OS – Pragati means Progress – is powered by Android, the result of this passionate effort to bring together the best minds at Jio and Google,” said Android General Manager and India Ram Papatla, Head of Engineering said in the video.
JioPhone Next will have translation feature working in 10 Indian languages.
“I am very proud of this new OS. We all are. It has some great new features specially translated now. I can speak in one language, and the phone will translate it into another language,” said JioPhone Next product management Binish Pargodoth he said.
The phone will also come with a read-aloud function, which will read content from any app open on the screen. However, it won’t be easy for JioPhone Next in India as it is already loaded with Chinese products.
