Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram on Tuesday cautioned the people of Karnataka against the BJP’s election manifesto promising Uniform Civil Code (UCC) and National Register of Citizens (NRC). State.

“I am very worried about the UCC and the promise of NRC. It will divide Karnataka, it will polarize Karnataka. It will create social conflict,” he said.

According to Chidambaram, BJP will try to enter Tamil Nadu and other states (using UCC and NRC).

The Congress leader asserted, “We will strongly oppose these destructive ideas entering Tamil Nadu. But my humble appeal to the people of Karnataka is to strongly oppose and stop this sinister, destructive agenda in Karnataka.”
