Deepika Padukone is trending on Twitter for allegedly following an account against Alia Bhatt; here’s the truth

The Cocktail actress, who was accused of being ‘insecure’ after sharing BTS pictures from their Oscars moment, was allegedly seen following an anti-Alia Bhatt Twitter account. However, it seems they realized it was a “mistake” and quickly corrected it by unfollowing the account.

A Twitter user who goes by the handle @instajustice13 claimed that Deepika Padukone followed his ‘backup’ account, which often posted tweets trolling Alia Bhatt. The account also shared a purported video claiming that Deepika is following the account. “Not following my backup account #DeepikaPadukone,” wrote a Twitter user.

While some users claimed that they also noticed that the account was listed in Deepika’s ‘Follows’ list on Twitter, a fan claimed that he informed Deepika about the anti-Alia account and its intentions and the actress soon Account closed.

A screenshot of a Twitter user who goes by the handle @dishaspovs is going viral in which the user has claimed that he informed Deepika about the malicious account and Deepika subsequently unfollowed the anti-Alia account. “She unfollowed that account after seeing my messages, so she definitely didn’t know!” The tweet showed a screenshot of the purported message sent by the user to the actress and was later read out. The Twitter handle is a private account at the time of reporting. News18 cannot verify the authenticity of the mentioned tweet.

The said anti seems to be a fan of Alia Bhatt account Kangana Ranaut and Madhuri Dixit, with several retweets and posts featuring the two stars. Some Reddit users also claimed that Deepika was seen following the account for a few hours before hitting the unfollow button.

Meanwhile, Deepika is yet to react to the alleged Twitter activity.
