Ravichandran Ashwin was dropped from India’s playing XI for the team’s opening match against Pakistan t20 world cup. In a game of this importance, Bangar said, India would need someone with “temperament and experience”. Ashwin, who has played 46 T20Is as compared to Chakraborty’s four, has a lot of experience.
“Varun Chakraborty’s recent performance in the UAE. He was very effective in Sharjah, but not in Dubai – where this game will be played. Considering the importance of the game, the number of matches played by Varun Chakraborty is slightly less, and He has little international experience,” Bangar said on Star Sports’ show ‘Game Plan’.
“For a game of this importance, you definitely want someone with flair and experience. So, in my opinion, Ravichandran Ashwin Can get approval in place of Varun Chakraborty.”
