European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen said on Tuesday that more than 80 countries have signed a US and EU pledge to reduce methane emissions by 30 percent by the end of the decade.

Von der Leyen told the COP26 climate conference that reducing the potent greenhouse gas by a third from 2020 levels would “immediately slow down climate change”.
