According to a report in a news portal, the court has allowed her application to de-freeze her bank accounts and return her laptop and phone. The court reportedly held that without any strong opposition NCB On her petition seeking to de-freeze her accounts and fixed deposits, she may be permitted, subject to conditions including a written undertaking, that she shall make available the balances shown in the accounts during the trial and as and when required. The report also said that Riya’s petition stated that she supported herself and her brother with money from their accounts which were frozen last year.
Riya’s plea was reportedly opposed by Special Public Prosecutor Atul Sarpande, representing the NCB and he said that if the accounts are de-freezed, there is a high probability of the said amount being involved in drug-related business. Is. Therefore, he sought dismissal of the application.
However, the investigating officer in the matter said that it would be better to leave the matter to the discretion of the court.
