New Delhi: India and the US will discuss ways to boost trade and investment, besides enhancing cooperation in the agriculture sector and intellectual property rights, during a meeting between the US Trade Representative this month. Catherine Tai and commerce minister Piyush Goyal, said an officer. The two-day meeting will start from November 22.
NS USTR is visiting India to revive trade policy forum ,TPF), which has not been found for the last four years, the official said. This meeting is also important as the 12th Ministerial Conference world trade organization ,world trade organization) is scheduled from 30 November to 3 December in Geneva. Both India and the US are members of the 164-member multilateral organization that deals with global exports and imports.
TPF is a major forum for resolving trade and investment issues between India and the US. Bilateral trade between the countries stood at $80.5 billion in FY2011.
