The CPI(M) said the BJP’s “fascist terror” is increasing as the date for the municipal elections is approaching.
CPI(M) condemned it on Sunday Trinamool Congress leader Sayoni Ghosh arrested and an alleged attack on TMC members outside a police station in Tripura.
In a statement, the CPI(M) said that the BJP’s ‘fascist terror’ is increasing as the date for the municipal elections is approaching.
A statement issued by the CPI(M) state secretariat said, “Leaders and candidates of all parties including Left parties were attacked several times and despite complaints, the police did not arrest the culprits. Police is playing the role of a mute spectator.” , said.
It said that the CPI(M) strongly condemns the incident.
The CPI(M) and TMC are arch rivals in West Bengal where Mamata Banerjee came to power in 2011, ending 34 years of Left rule.
Tripura Police arrested Ms. Ghosh on charges of attempt to murder after she allegedly disrupted a meeting of Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb by shouting “played hobe” on Saturday night.
Trinamool Congress leaders also alleged that BJP supporters misbehaved with their workers outside East Agartala Mahila Police Station.
