NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Thursday told the Supreme Court that in order to allay the apprehensions of students appearing for the NEET (UG) 2021 exam, it will ask three experts to re-evaluate the answers of an alleged shall appoint a committee of Error in Hindi version of Physics paper. The top court was hearing a petition filed by Vajda Tabassum and 21 other NEET aspirants alleging discrepancy and patent error in question number 2 of the Hindi version of the physics paper, in which the word ‘dimension of the present’ was omitted. Is.

During the hearing, Mehta said that the issue was examined by neutral experts and he is of the view that the answer would be the same irrespective of the alleged discrepancy or omission of words in the Hindi translation of the question paper.

Advocate Archana Pathak Dave, appearing for the petitioners, submitted that due to omission of words, another answer in Hindi version is correct.

He said that out of over 15 lakh students who appeared in the NEET-UG exam, around two lakh students have opted for the Hindi version and they will be in a disadvantageous position as there was negative marking for wrong answers.

The bench then told Mehta that though the judges of the bench are not experts in physics and the contention of the petitioners that both the answers are correct in the Hindi and English versions, it would be better if the answers are re-examined by the committee. Experts in the field.

The petition claimed that due to alleged omission of words in the Hindi version, the candidates who have attempted the question have arrived at a different answer than their English counterparts.

It is stated that both wrong and correct answers were provided as alternatives to the multiple choice questions and the students have demanded deletion of the said question alleging omission of words.

They have also sought to declare NEET-UG, 2021 exam as wrong and faulty as NTA has released the answer key based on the answer in English translation without taking cognizance of the error and putting the candidates of Hindi version in a disadvantageous position. . ,
