YouThe current generations like, the children of the 1970s were not lucky to go to school wearing a crisp, iron uniform. The clothes were pressed beyond our means.
Year -Dardar, we used to go to school with wrinkled clothes, except national festivals. We used to wait for the arrival of August and January, because on Independence Day and Republic Day, we could wear iron uniforms. During other times, the uniform was neatly placed under the bed or under a stool, on top of which.
Electric iron boxes were then unknown. Instead, charcoal-hot iron boxes were used. He was even ineffective. In the entire village, a person will offer iron services weekly. But the majority had no money to pay him.
Therefore, we will choose a flat-floating brass vessel or pel. It was a delicate task to install red-hot charcoal embers in the vessel. It was to be handled with care, not to burn our fingers. Charcol amber was available only after breakfast and evening after dinner in the evening only in the morning. In those days, cooking was done with firewood.
Since the vessel was without a handle, the fabric was to be held by holding his rim with a towel or some fabric. It required patience and skills.
One day while pressing, I faced burning on my hand and on the second occasion, a spark from hot charcoal fell on my new cil shirt, causing a button-shaped hole. This invited serious anger from my parents.
Since then, I had not been ironing clothes for two decades until the electric iron box arrived at the scene. Even when ironing with an electric box, I take additional care to avoid electric shock or burning. This kind of fear was etched in my memory.
With the passage of time, electric iron boxes made their way to our homes, making our job so easy that school children can get clothes easily. We are enjoying ironing facilities, but on heavy environmental costs.
