Hyundai says sales hit in November due to ongoing semiconductor shortage situation

Hyundai Motor India has released its monthly sales figures for November 2021, during which the company’s domestic sales stood at 37,001 units. Compared to 48,800 units sold during the same month in 2020, Hyundai witnessed a year-on-year decline of 24.2 per cent. The Korean carmaker says the ongoing semiconductor shortage situation has hit sales in November. At the same time, the month-on-month decline in sales was marginal as compared to 37,021 vehicles sold in October 2021.

In the official statement issued by the company, Hyundai “Sales in November have been impacted due to the ongoing semiconductor shortage situation. Hyundai Motor India will continue all efforts to ease the situation,” it said.

Hyundai’s cumulative sales for the month of November 2021 stood at 46,910 units, a decline of around 21 per cent as compared to November 2020.

In November 2021, Hyundai also exported 9,909 units from India, compared to 10,400 units exported during the same month, registering a decline of 4.7 per cent on a year-on-year basis. However, compared to October 2021, when Hyundai exported 6,535 units, the company saw a MoM growth of around 52 per cent.

Hyundai’s cumulative sales in the month of November 2021 stood at 46,910 units, which is a decline of around 21 per cent as compared to 59,200 units sold during the same month in 2020. However, compared to 43,556 vehicles sold in October 2021, Hyundai saw one. MoM increase of around 8 per cent.
