Not full version of events, says Gao

Speaking to ThePrint, Gao said Swamy did not give the full version of the story, adding that he only told the Rajya Sabha MP about infiltration under Congress governments.

He has not given full details of the discussion he had with me. I have clearly mentioned that there has been no infiltration during Modi regime, everything has been done during Congress rule – from 1962 till Manmohan Singh’s rule. But he only mentioned my name and intrusion. This is not the version I told him,” Gao said.

“Nothing new and nothing serious. He only tweeted half the story,” he claimed, adding that he had spoken personally to Swamy about the issue early Friday, and the latter assured him given that he would fix it.

When asked why Swami would present half the story, Gao laughed and said: “I don’t know, you can ask him”.

ThePrint reached out to Swamy over the phone for a comment, but did not receive a response till the time of publication of this report. He later tweeted that his “other sources confirm that the PLA has built pucca villages in Arunachal”.

BJP spokesperson RP Singh told ThePrint that “Subramanian Swamy is not above the army chief”. “The army said on record that there was no infiltration. Whatever he (Swami) can say because of his political motive, it doesn’t matter.

Swamy also fueled speculation when he met Trinamool Congress leader and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on November 25, but pacified them by saying that he was “already with her”.

“His intentions are wrong. If someone was tweeting against the government on policy issues, then the matter was different. He once said that (EAM) S Jaishankar was dress like a waiter, He was hoping that he would be made the finance minister, but when his hopes were not met, he revolted against the government.

“Even when adamant Yes He was not made a minister, he toppled the government with Jayalalithaa, then he went against Sonia Gandhi. He is not committed to any ideology, he is only committed to power and now he is hoping that Mamata Banerjee will send him to Rajya Sabha.
