A high-end car, which was allegedly being driven recklessly, led to a serial accident that claimed the life of a restaurant worker in Indiranagar on Tuesday afternoon. The driver of the speeding car and six others were also injured, while at least three vehicles were damaged. Two are in the ICU, while five others have suffered minor injuries and their condition is stated to be out of danger.
The incident took place on Indiranagar 80 feet road.
The deceased has been identified as Hari Mahanta, 36, who hails from Assam and worked as a valet parking driver of a restaurant. He lived in the sun. He was an employee of the restaurant for the last ten years. Police found that the accused driver, 40-year-old Suvidha, is a businessman and a resident of Defense Colony.

According to the police, the incident took place around 3.15 pm when Suvidha, who was allegedly speeding in a high-end car, collided with another car, which rammed into an autorickshaw and a goods vehicle.
Mahant, who was taking the car out of the parking lot, died on the spot, while the drivers of other vehicles were injured. Passers-by helped the victims before noticing the accident before alerting the Halasuru traffic police. He also helped the police in clearing the damaged vehicles from the road to clear the traffic.
Mahindra, an eyewitness, said, “I was riding my bike when the speeding car hit a series of vehicles and I suddenly stopped. I went to the help of the drivers of the cars and found that the drivers who drove the car died on the spot and others were screaming.They were rushed to the nearest hospital before the police reached the spot.

The police are waiting for the recovery of the accused driver so that he can be interrogated. They are also waiting for the medical report to ascertain whether he was intoxicated.
