New Delhi: The White House confirmed on Tuesday (October 4, 2022) that President Joe Biden plans to celebrate Diwali this year. At a media briefing, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said Diwali, the festival of lights, is an event that Biden considers “very important”.
Asked if the US President has any plans to celebrate Diwali with leaders of the Indian American community at the White House this year, Jean-Pierre said, “Yes, he plans to celebrate Diwali the same way as last year. We No ‘There is no date to share with you at this time. But it is an event that he considers very important, as he sees partnership with India as well as Indian Americans in this country.’

It is noteworthy that starting from the Bush administration, Diwali is being celebrated every year in the White House.
This year Diwali is falling on 24th October.
