New Delhi: Aadhaar authentication transactions have climbed to 2.31 billion in March 2023 as against 2.26 billion authentication transactions recorded in February 2023, according to IT Ministry data.
In addition, Aadhaar-enabled e-KYC increased by 16 per cent as 21.47 million Aadhaars were successfully updated in March 2023.
Official sources said most of the authentication transaction numbers were done using biometric fingerprint, followed by demographic and OTP authentication.
He said that the adoption of e-KYC has also brought down the customer acquisition cost of financial institutions, telecom service providers and other entities significantly.
The cumulative number of Aadhaar e-KYC transactions so far till the end of March 2023 has reached 14.7 billion.
During the month of March, over 21.47 million Aadhaar were updated following requests from residents, while 16.8 million such updates were done in February 2023.
