Aamir Khan assures fans that he loves India, says not to boycott ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’ – Times of India

actor Aamir Khan recently reacted to the Twitter trend where several netizens wrote about boycotting his film ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’ because they were under the impression that they did not like India.

Apparently, several Twitter users went viral on Aamir’s controversial “India’s growing intolerance” statement. Back in 2015, he made a controversial statement, “Our country is very tolerant, but there are people who spread maliciousness”. His ex-wife Kiran Rao was also reprimanded for remarking that she had considered leaving the country for the safety of their children.

Assuring fans that he loves his country, he asked, ‘Please, don’t boycott my film’.

Recently, at a press event, Aamir was asked if this hate and needless trolling bothers him. To which the actor said, ‘Yes, I am feeling sad. At the same time, I am also sad that some people who are saying this, believe in their heart that I am someone who does not like India. They believe in their heart, but it is untrue. It’s unfortunate that some people feel that way. that’s not it. Please don’t boycott my film. Please watch my film.”

Talking about Laal Singh Chaddha, the film also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Naga Chaitanya. Mona Singh in important roles. Directed by Advait Chandan, the film is all set to hit the theaters on August 11. The film is an official remake of the 1994 Tom Hanks starrer Forrest Grump.

When asked what was it about Tom Hank’s character that attracted him in the first place, the 57-year-old actor shared, “Tom Hank’s biggest strength is his innocence. That’s what I loved about him in the film and That’s what I tried to do in this film as well. It was also a big challenge for me to bring that expression and mindset, because I am someone who is in my late 50s now.”
