First mix together moong dal, chopped onion, ginger, green chili, turmeric powder, salt and chopped garlic. Add five cups of water and bring it to a boil. Boil for fifteen minutes till the lentils are soft, removing the dirt from time to time. Blend the lentil mixture and strain it. Keep aside. Heat butter in a pan, add cumin, dry red chilli and curry leaves. Fry till the seeds crackle. Add the ground lentils, and let it come to a boil. Adjust the consistency by adding water, if desired. Add lemon juice and garnish with green coriander. serve hot!
