Prashant Kishor said that the opposition needs to bring down at least 2 of the 3 big forces of BJP.
New Delhi:
Election strategist Prashant Kishor on Monday said the BJP has presented a “formidable narrative” by leveraging the issues of Hindutva, hyper-nationalism and public welfare, and the opposition parties have little chance unless they Can’t beat it on at least two fronts.
“The popularity of the BJP is not just a function of Hindutva. It is one of the most important elements. Two [other] The elements that we need to pay attention to are this talk of hyper-nationalism. It is as important as Hinduism, if not more. And then [secondly] You have welfare,” he added An interview to NDTV,
“Welfareism, nationalism and Hinduism at the domestic and individual level – put together, it is quite a formidable narrative. Unless you have the ability to improve the two of them, through your own narrative, you will be against the BJP. Very few opportunities stand,” Mr Kishor said.
“BJP performs poorly in assembly elections – one of the reasons is that this nationalism element does not work and you have sub-regionalism as an element to counter it. When it comes to national elections, this nationalism [issue] Allows them to cross all those limits,” he said.
Mr. Kishor said he wanted Help build an opposition front that can defeat the BJP in 2024 And that it was “entirely possible”, even though the results of next month’s state elections – seen as a semifinal to the general elections – were unfavourable.
“Is it possible to defeat BJP in 2024? The answer is an emphatic yes. But is it possible with the existing players and formations? Probably no,” said Mr. Kishor, “a little bit of adjustment, a little bit of a new national party.” instead of tweaking”.
The 45-year-old, who calls himself a “political ally”, said, “Any party or leader who wants to defeat the BJP should have a 5-10-year vision. This cannot happen in five months. But it will happen. That is the power of democracy.”
