With 5,910 new coronavirus infections being reported in a day, Total number of COVID-19 cases in India According to the data updated by the Union Health Ministry on Monday, it rose to 4,44,62,445, while the active cases came down to 53,974.

Data updated at 8 am showed that the death toll in Kerala rose to 5,28,007 with 16 deaths, including seven deaths.

Active cases comprise 0.12% of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has risen to 98.69%, the health ministry said.

The active COVID-19 caseload has registered a decline of 1,140 cases in a 24-hour period.

According to the health ministry, the daily positivity rate was recorded at 2.60% and the weekly positivity rate was recorded at 2.15%.

The number of people cured of the disease rose to 4,38,80,464, while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.19%.

According to the ministry, 213.52 crore doses of Kovid vaccines have been administered in the country so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination campaign.

India’s COVID-19 tally had crossed the 20 lakh mark on August 7, 2020, 30 lakh on 23 August, 40 lakh on 5 September and 50 lakh on 16 September.

It crossed 60 lakhs on 28th September, 70 lakhs on 11th October, 80 lakhs on 29th October, 90 lakhs on 20th November and one crore on 19th December.

India crossed the grim milestone of 20 million on May 4, 30 million on June 23 last year and 40 million on January 25 this year.
