Hurriyat chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said on Thursday that he hopes the new regime in Afghanistan will end four decades of continuing conflict and uncertainty in Afghanistan.

“The Hurriyat understands that no two conflict zones are alike and the differences between Afghanistan and Kashmir are well known. However, in Kashmir we can certainly sympathize with the common people of the country, who have been living in a state of extreme uncertainty for 40 years,” the Mirwaiz said in a statement.
