Amidst growing rift between Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav And his colleague Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) chief Om Prakash Rajbhar has openly expressed his displeasure over not being invited to meet the opposition’s presidential candidate Yashwant Sinha.
News18 was previously reported About the war of words or words between Akhilesh Yadav and SBSP after the defeat in Azamgarh and Rampur by-elections.
The Samajwadi Party had called an important meeting with the opposition’s presidential candidate Yashwant Sinha at the party headquarters in Lucknow on Thursday. Rashtriya Lok Dal chief Jayant Chaudhary was also present in the meeting along with senior SP officials.
However, SBSP chief Om Prakash Rajbhar remained missing from the stage. Meanwhile, Rajbhar has called a meeting of his six MLAs in Mau on Friday.
In a special conversation with News18 on the question of disagreement with Akhilesh, Rajbhar said, “There is nothing like this. I have a pre-scheduled meeting with our MLAs in Mau and we hold review meetings every 15 days. The meeting was to be held on July 1 but could not take place due to rain. So now it is happening today. This includes the officers of the organization as well.”
When asked why he was not called for a meeting of SP and allies with Yashwant Sinha, Rajbhar replied, “Only Akhilesh ji can tell this. We are still in alliance and we worked hard for 12 consecutive days in the by-elections and gave our best as an alliance partner.
However, he said, “We will be with the alliance till Akhilesh Yadav himself ends it.”
On the question of support in the presidential election, Rajbhar said, on July 12, we have called all our six MLAs for a meeting in this regard. Only then will we reveal about our decision. Maybe, Samajwadi Party will call its alliance partners and tell whom to vote for. However, once they have decided that they will lose, it does not matter whether they call anyone or not.
