CHANDIGARH: With the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) preparing the merit list again after correcting the answer keys, a total of 1,178 successful candidates of the clerk recruitment exam are likely to leave after a year and a half of their services in various departments. Notably, most of the people who are likely to drop did not even report to HSSC for verification of documents.
Similarly, HSSC has also put on hold the appointment process for Assistant Lineman (ALM), whose results have been finalized on May 24. HSSC has already informed the concerned appointing agencies, i.e. Dicom and Electricity Department.
As per the information, HSSC had advertised for the recruitment of 4,858 clerks in the year 2019 and as a result the written examination was conducted and the result was declared in September 2020 and appointments were given to the successful candidates.
Meanwhile, some unsuccessful candidates had approached Punjab and the Haryana High Court alleging deduction of marks for three questions. HSSC was instructed to issue a revised list after rectifying the result. Now, HSSC has directed the concerned departments to issue termination notices to 1,178 such candidates.
Referring to the ban on the appointment of ALMS, the sources said that there was a problem related to four questions in the answer key. So, HSSC has decided to release the new list of successful candidates after correcting the answer key.
Around 400 such successful candidates are likely to appear in this exercise.
