After meeting Nadda, BJP’s Arjun Singh said – the decision to continue or leave the party will be clear in ‘next 15 days’

BJP MP Barrackpore Arjun Singh, who was critical of the Centre’s policy towards the jute sector and the party’s state unit, met party national president JP Nadda on Monday and, according to sources, may go for ‘ghar wapsi’.

Arjun Singh had joined BJP from TMC in March 2019.

Arjun Singh’s meeting with JP Nadda lasted for about an hour and if sources are to be believed, Arjun is keen to return to TMC.

Immediately after the meeting, Singh said, “Whether I am staying in BJP or not, you will get a clear answer in the coming 15 days.”

Trouble started when Arjun raised his voice against the price of jute and wrote to the party demanding a meeting with Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal.

Piyush Goyal also looked into the demands made by Singh and also held meetings with the stakeholders. Arjun Singh then said in front of the media that he doesn’t want to be happy with “Lollipop” and wants results instead.

Arjun is the MP from Barrackpore, which has a large number of jute mills. Jute prices play an important role for them as it affects their entire vote bank.

Sources say that talks with his previous party are almost over, adding that the BJP leadership does not want him to lose him.

“I have told Nadda ji that there is no worker in the BJP at the booth level. It has been said everywhere and now it is telling the Supreme Leader. Nadda ji has asked me to give the note. Will do that,” Singh said.

Arjun Singh said he plans to go abroad for a holiday and sources close to the developments said he may announce his next course of action soon after his return.
