After RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, now Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Madhya Pradesh amidst political activities within a week.
Bhagwat was in Bhopal on April 16 and 17 for a Chintan Shivir organized by the RSS. Amit Shah will come to Bhopal on April 22 to address a tribal convention at Jamboori Maidan.
Apart from inaugurating the All India Police Congress at the Central Police Academy, Shah will also participate in a convention of tendu patta collectors.
Tendupatta collection is a major source of income for the tribal population in Madhya Pradesh. He will also perform Bhoomi Pujan for the National Forensic Science University in Bhopal.
Shah’s visit is considered an extension of the BJP’s ongoing tribal outreach program for the 2023 Assembly elections and 2024 Lok Sabha elections. About 21% of Madhya Pradesh’s electorate is made up of tribals.
In November last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had addressed Gaurav Diwas at the same venue in honor of tribal heroes. To woo tribal voters, the central government renamed the Habibganj railway station in Bhopal after Rani Kamalapati, who hailed from Bhopal and ruled the region before the Islamic invasion and arrival of the Nawabs.
Adivasis, a traditional vote bank, hold the key to power in the state.
Of the 230 assembly seats, 47 are reserved for tribals and out of which the BJP won 32 in the year 2013, while the Congress won 30 out of 47 seats in the 2018 assembly elections and with a slim power. I had returned. majority.
Aware of this debacle, the saffron party plans to bridge the gap before 2023, when assembly elections are due. Meanwhile, Shah will transfer bonus amount to the bank accounts of tribal beneficiaries besides inaugurating the process of converting forest villages into revenue villages during his visit. These forest villages are currently governed by the forest department and once the conversion takes place, the land will be available for farming and other activities.
In Bhopal, Bhagwat discussed various aspects of Hindutva and National Education Policy.
