Today, the Chancellor interacted with the next in-charge of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal and the Registrar of South Dinajpur University, who is also the Principal of Balurghat College.

Talking to the registrar of Makout, the vice-chancellor directed that the vacancy of the vice-chancellor’s post should not hinder any work of the university. The registrar of MAKAUT flagged some of the pressing problems of the university currently, such as the construction activities of the university being affected, NAAC approval matters, AICTE approval matters and NEP 2020 matters.

The Chancellor specifically directed that every step be taken to ensure that students do not face any difficulty in matters of education, examination or hostel. All the matters related to the students should run smoothly without any hindrance.

As far as the teachers are concerned, he said that he would like to interact with all the teachers and visit the universities as often as required. During the interaction with the Registrar in-charge of Dakshin Dinajpur University, the Vice Chancellor was informed that at present Dakshin Dinajpur University does not have permanent faculty or permanent campus. Adequate financial grant has also not been made available so far. For further discussion, the in-charge Registrar was asked to meet the Vice-Chancellor as and when required.

The Chancellor explicitly asked the two office-bearers of both the universities to be in touch with the Chancellor regarding any difficulties faced by them. The governor is reaching Delhi on Saturday night and was on his way when a reporter asked him about the government’s comment but he did not respond. The way he interacted with the university officials throughout the day clearly shows the direction he is headed.
