NS Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2022 The officials have canceled the examination centers set up in the cities of Sonipat and Panipat in Haryana. The students who were given exam centers in these areas have been asked to change the city of their choice. This facility will be provided to the students of these two examination centers only without any additional charges.
In an official notice, the GATE 2022 exam conducting institute IIT Kharagpur said, “We regret to inform that the examination cities of Sonipat and Panipat have been cancelled. Candidates opting for these cities are requested to change their choice of city without any additional charges.”
The cities where exam centers have been canceled are also the same places where at least one test center was hacked during the engineering entrance exam – JEE Main. As reported earlier by News18.com,

A Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe had found that at least one examination center in JEE Mains in Sonipat region was tampered with. Now there will be no GATE 2022 in any of these cities. Though the officials have not linked the change in the exam city to security reasons, it is a unique coincidence. GATE 2022 is an entrance exam for postgraduate courses in IITs as well as many PSU level jobs. The exam is to be held on February 5, 6, 12 and 13.
This year, two new papers – Naval and Marine Engineering (NM) and Geomatics Engineering (GE) have been included in GATE 2022. From 2021, women and candidates from non-engineering background have also been allowed to take GATE.
