new Delhi : Minister of State for Communications Devusinh Chouhan announced on Wednesday that dues of telecom companies are 1.65 lakh crore to the government in Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR) Till the financial year 2018-19, the liability has increased as compared to the previous order with the calculation of full financial year 2018-19.
Calculation shows that Bharti Airtel had AGR liability 31,280 crore, Vodafone Idea 59,236.63 crore, Reliance Jio 631 crore, BSNL 16,224 crore, MTNL 5,009.1 crore till the financial year 2018-19.
“The outstanding is up to FY 2018-19 and is subject to an amendment Based on representations from TSPs (Telecom Service Providers), departmental assessment, CAG/Special Audit, court cases etc., Chouhan said in a written reply in Lok Sabha.
The dues of telecom operators that have closed their businesses like Reliance Communications (including Sistema Shyam) and Aircel will remain unchanged. 25,194.58 crore and 12,389 crores respectively.
Telecom operators had made partial payment of the demand made from them as per the order dated September 1, 2020, for calculation up to October 2019.
demand The total amount due raised in September 2020 is generally calculated up to the financial year 2016-17 and includes interest on aggregate demand, penalty and interest on penalty till October 2019.
The outstanding dues based on the September 2020 order, after part payment, were on Airtel 25,976 crore, Vodafone Idea 50,399.63 crore, zero on Reliance Jio, BSNL 5,835.85 crore, MTNL 4,352.09 crores.
The total outstanding AGR on telecom operators was 1,38,889.72 crore after partial payment based on the demand raised in the September 2020 order.
