The PM stressed that women in Himachal Pradesh are with the BJP, given a host of welfare schemes ranging from toilets to houses, gas cylinders, electricity and drinking water. In his Hamirpur rally, the PM raised the issue that the BJP candidate from Sujanpur seat was an ex-serviceman and said that he had met several ex-servicemen at the rally. “I admire the women who gave birth to them. Went in kargil this diwali, I saw pictures of Prem Kumar Dhumal and me going to Kargil during the war. I spend every Diwali with the soldiers,” the PM said.
He further said that neither soldiers under Congress rule had enough bullet proof jackets nor good winter footwear, border roads were not built and border villages were undeveloped.

“They duped you for 40 years on One Rank One Pension Scheme. Even now they are making some promises. we gave OROP dues very. We have spent Rs 60,000 crore on OROP. Ex-servicemen are with us because of the OROP scheme,” the PM said.

The PM said it is important that people do not bring back the Congress as it will stop the development projects started by the BJP. He said that other states like Uttarakhand have recently changed the tradition of changing the government and Himachal Pradesh should also follow the same.

The PM also raised his old association with Himachal Pradesh to say that the state will benefit if BJP wins in the state as he is the PM. He said, ‘If a PM knows everything about Himachal, every road and hill here, won’t it help you? If people friendly to me are in power here, I can do more things for you. You also have to take advantage of Delhi..So form a double engine government.’
He said that Congress did not allow him to work for the state during his stay in power in Himachal from 2014 to 2017.
