AIFF held its executive committee meeting in Gangtok.
In a statement, the parent body said, “In its endeavor to develop the game across the country, the Executive Committee accepted the proposal of the Development Committee to provide financial assistance of Rs 24 lakh to each State Federation under the banner of AIFF.” “
This financial assistance can be used by the state associations for their women’s, men’s and youth leagues, office spaces, equipment and grassroots development.

The EC also approved the DC’s recommendation that the AIFF assist each state association “to appoint their respective administration heads and technical coordinators” in appointing two key personnel for each state.
The Executive Committee approved several suggestions that were earlier forwarded by the Competitions Committee, the first of which pertained to the Santosh Trophy for the Senior Men’s National Football Championship.
“The legacy competition of Indian football will be played with 12 teams (10 eligible states along with services and railways) in the final round.
“The group stages will be held in six groups of five to six teams each, and the group toppers, along with the two best second-placed teams, hosts, Services and Railways will play in the final round.” Also agree with the suggestion of the Competition Committee that the Senior Women’s National Qualifiers be held in December.
