Akasa Air resumes operations, takes first flight on Mumbai-Ahmedabad route – Times of India

New Delhi: akasa air Finally Indian is in skies as the first flight took off on Sunday between the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route, which was inaugurated by Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya M Scindia along with MoS Gen Vijay Kumar Singh (Retd).
On 22nd July, India’s newest airline akasa Air on Friday started ticket booking for its first commercial flights with the initial network in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Kochi.
In the inaugural phase, Akasa Air, whose airline code is QP, will start its operations from August 7, 2022 by offering 28 weekly flights between Mumbai and Ahmedabad.
Thereafter, from August 13, the airline will start operating an additional 28 weekly flights between Bengaluru and Kochi. Tickets are open for sale with immediate effect for all.

“Akasa Air’s network strategy is focused on establishing a strong pan-India presence and providing linkages from Metro to Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities across the country,” Praveen IyerCo-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Akasa Air said.
In July, ace investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala-backed airline received an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation Regulatory (DGCA).
The grant of AOC is the final stage of a comprehensive and rigorous process laid down by DGCA and signifies satisfactory fulfillment of all regulatory and compliance requirements for operational readiness of the airline.
