This day is seen on the third date (lunar day) of Shukla Paksha of Vaishkha month. The Sanskrit meaning of two words, Akshay Tritiya holds great importance. “Akshay” means “eternal”, and the word “tritiya” refers to the third day of the enlightened half of the Vaishaka month.
