Actress Alia Bhatt on Tuesday announced that her debut film “Darlings” as a producer will premiere on streaming platform Netflix.

Bhatt shared the news of the film’s Netflix debut on his social media handle.

“Darlings”, a dark comedy, marks the directorial debut of writer Jasmeet K Rein. Set in Mumbai, the film is set against the backdrop of a conservative lower middle class neighbourhood.
It explores the life of a mother-daughter duo trying to find their place in the city, fighting against all odds and finding courage and love in extraordinary circumstances.
Bhatt and streamer Netflix are yet to announce the official release date of the film.
In a statement, the actor said that “Darlings” hold a special place in my heart.
He said, “This is my first film as a producer and that too with Red Chillies. We are very proud and happy with how the film has shaped up and we hope to entertain and engage audiences across the globe. “
Rein thanked Red Chillies and Eternal Sunshine for taking the film worldwide with Netflix.

“Darlings” has music by Vishal Bhardwaj and lyrics by veteran writer Gulzar.
