All India Bar Examination 2021: Short Notes Permitted During Bare Acts

The Bar Council of India has announced a major relaxation for the examinees before the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) 2021. The exam is scheduled to be held on 31st October and BCI has announced relaxation of using bare Acts with short notes/comments. For AIBE-XVI Examination at the request of the candidates.

The official statement said, “The council has considered the requests made by several candidates appearing for the 16th All India Bar Examination to be held on 31.10. be allowed to use it.”

The Council further stated that the candidates face difficulty in obtaining the bare Acts without the short notes/comments from the market, therefore, keeping this issue in view, the Council has issued short notes/comments (not detailed) to the candidates. bare Acts are allowed to be used. This comes after the BCI had earlier said that no book or study material would be allowed in the examination hall except for bare acts without notes/comments, however, this created confusion among the candidates. “After considering the difficulty being faced by the candidates, the Council has resolved to relax the condition of bare use of short notes/remarks during the examination and thus enable the candidates to have short notes/remarks (not detailed notes)”. AIBE is conducted to examine the ability of an advocate to practice the profession of law in India. The exam assesses the skills of the candidates at a basic level to give them a certificate to practice law. Those who pass the exam are awarded a “Certificate of Practice” by the Bar Council of India. The exam will be conducted in 11 languages ​​in 40 cities across India. It is an open book exam consisting of multiple choice type questions.

The registration for AIBE 16th exam was started on December 26, 2020, at allindiabarexamination.com, and the last date to apply for the exam was September 25.
