All party meeting begins in Parliament before budget session

The all-party meeting started in Parliament House on Monday morning before the budget session. However, leaders of the Congress party remained absent.

While all the top leaders of opposition parties including TMC, DMK were present. Such as Sudip Bandyopadhyay and Sukhendu Sekhar Ray (TMC), K Keshav Rao and Nama Nageswara Rao (TRS), and TR, Balu (DMK).

Other leaders who were present included Vijayasai Reddy from YSR Congress, Farooq Abdullah from National Conference, Professor Manoj Jha from RJD, Ram Nath Thakur from JDU and Priyanka Chaturvedi from Shiv Sena.

The All India Party meeting is a customary meeting that takes place before the start of the Parliament session. During the meeting, the government will seek cooperation of all political parties to ensure smooth functioning of both the Houses of Parliament during the session.

budget session The proceedings of Parliament will begin on 31 January with an address by the President of India to a joint sitting of both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha in the Central Hall of Parliament.

The Economic Survey will also be tabled in both the Houses on the first day of the session.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union Budget 2023-24 in the Lok Sabha on 1 February. Later the budget will be presented in the Rajya Sabha.

From Thursday, there will be a discussion on the ‘Motion of Thanks to the President’s Address’ in both the Houses, after which PM Narendra Modi will reply in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

This part of the budget session will continue till February 13.

The second part of the budget session will begin after the recess on March 13 and will continue till April 6. Demands for Grants of various ministries will be discussed and the Union Budget will be passed. Other legislative business will also be taken up by the government during this period.
