In what can be termed as an anti-climax, ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ star Allu Arjun made it abundantly clear that the alleged nude confrontation between the protagonist and the antagonist in the film’s climax was not the scene in the first place. Allu Arjun told IANS in very candid words, “It was never on the cards.”
The issue has its roots in a media interaction where the film’s director Sukumar was quoted as saying that the climactic scene of ‘Pushpa’ originally envisioned a nude face-off between actors Allu Arjun and Fahadh Faasil. Went.
But wary of the sensitivity of the Telugu audience, the makers had apparently backed down. Speaking to IANS, Sukumar admitted that he actually made a statement on those lines. But in retrospect, this appears to be a classic case of ‘getting lost in translation’.
Speaking to IANS, Sukumar said that he really wanted to explain the creative origins of the scene in which emotions are perceived to be high and nerves on edge.
“It was something that fell out as the first thought in a moment of excitement. When giving so many interviews sometimes something like this happens unintentionally. What I wanted to say about the naked feelings in the play was the scene I tried to explain it but it turned out differently,” he told IANS.
“Everyone is trolling me.” He finished with a hoarse smile on his face.
Meanwhile, Allu Arjun has made it clear about his stand on starring in such a scene that he can do it if the director is okay.
“No no. We are all commercial film actors. We want people to come and enjoy the film. I do mass films. I am a mass hero,” he said in response to the question with a laugh.
‘Pushpa: The Rise’ was released on December 17 to Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi audiences. The film stars Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil and Dhananjay in pivotal roles.
The film, directed by Sukumar, revolves around the red sandalwood smuggling activities in the Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh. The film has successfully attracted audiences in most of the markets where it was screened.
