Alok Kumar Choudhary takes over as new MD in SBI

Alok Kumar Choudhary took over as the new Managing Director (MD) of State Bank of India with effect from Tuesday. Choudhary will take over the retail business and operations in his new role.

In a statement, he highlighted that Choudhary is a seasoned banker who has been associated with SBI for over three-and-a-half decades.

Chaudhary started his career State Bank Of India As a Probationary Officer in 1987. He has also worked for the Bank in various geographies.

Prior to becoming DMD (Finance), he has also worked as DMD (HR) and Corporate Development Officer in SBI. Also, he held the role of Chief General Manager (CGM) of SBI’s Delhi circle for three years.

His other previous roles in SBI were GM, Network I, Ahmedabad, DGM, B&O, Delhi, as well as DGM & CDO, North-East Circle.

SBI shares closed on BSE 463.35 each flat as compared to the previous close. SBI’s market cap remained at closing price 4,13,521.88 crores.
